Har sedan ungdomen alltid l\u00e4ngtat till fj\u00e4llen p\u00e5 vintern. D\u00e5 var det endags bussresor p\u00e5 sportlovet f\u00f6r att \u00e5ka utf\u00f6r som gjorde fj\u00e4llen magiska. Att uppleva en milj\u00f6 d\u00e4r backarna var l\u00e4ngre och fler, sn\u00f6n djupare och torrare, vyerna o\u00e4ndligt mycket h\u00e4ftigare. N\u00e4r jag blev lite \u00e4ldre fj\u00e4llvandrade jag d\u00e5 och d\u00e5, men det var f\u00f6rst f\u00f6r n\u00e5gra \u00e5r sedan jag uppt\u00e4ckte upplevelsen av att springa i fj\u00e4llen. Nu kan jag springa \u00f6ver en myr och uppleva dofterna lika intensivt f\u00f6rknippat med positiva k\u00e4nslor som jag kan k\u00e4nna n\u00e4r jag springer l\u00e4ngs havet, och tar in dem dofterna. Mitt p\u00e5 myren, med fj\u00e4lltoppar runtomkring, k\u00e4nner jag mig liten i det stora. D\u00e4r blir jag en del av n\u00e5got st\u00f6rre, f\u00e5r ett annat perspektiv p\u00e5 livet, landar l\u00e4ttare mitt i nuet.<\/p>\n<p>Mitt huvudm\u00e5l f\u00f6r sommaren 2021, Hallands Ultra Beach 200 miles, blev med kort varsel inst\u00e4llt. Pl\u00f6tsligt k\u00e4ndes det tomt, n\u00e5got jag verkligen siktat in mig p\u00e5 f\u00f6rsvann. Blev lite motivationsl\u00f6s och upplevde att det var sv\u00e5rt att leta upp och sedan ladda om f\u00f6r en ny stor utmaning.<\/p>\n<p>Ist\u00e4llet valde jag att anm\u00e4la mig till ett fj\u00e4llmaraton i Vemdalen, inte som en stor utmaning, snarare f\u00f6r att g\u00f6ra n\u00e5got roligt i fj\u00e4llen och f\u00e5 uppleva t\u00e4vlingsk\u00e4nslan och pulsen i ett lite st\u00f6rre arrangemang. Jag anm\u00e4lde mig 1,5 vecka f\u00f6re loppet till 35 km eftersom alla platserna p\u00e5 45 km var slut.<\/p>\n<p>Ins\u00e5g snart hur mina prestationskrav v\u00e4xte. Det kanske l\u00e5ter underligt, men jag har delvis kunna g\u00f6mt mig bakom att springa allt l\u00e4ngre lopp, d\u00e4r det k\u00e4nns som tiden inte spelar n\u00e5gon roll. Ju l\u00e4ngre och tuffare lopp, desto viktigare att bara klara att fullf\u00f6lja. Allt som \u00e4r 100 km eller l\u00e4ngre k\u00e4nns p\u00e5 s\u00e4tt och vis enklare att f\u00f6rh\u00e5lla sig till som \u00e5ldrande l\u00f6pare, att jag kan k\u00e4nna att min prestation \u00e4r okej oavsett hur l\u00e5ng tid jag tar p\u00e5 mig. Fr\u00e5n att varit en l\u00f6pare som aldrig varit bland de allra b\u00e4sta men \u00e4nd\u00e5 oftast hamnat l\u00e5ngt fram i resultatlistan, har jag genom att undvika de kortare loppen, fortsatt kunnat klamra mig fast vid hyfsade resultat. Jag har de senaste 25 \u00e5ren sett mig som en duktig och seri\u00f6s motion\u00e4r. Nu \u00e4r jag en l\u00f6pare som blivit mycket l\u00e5ngsammare och en stor del av f\u00f6r\u00e4ndringen har skett de senaste \u00e5ren. Jag jobbar p\u00e5 acceptansen av den f\u00f6r\u00e4ndringen, men det \u00e4r sv\u00e5rt. Skrev om min v\u00e5nda p\u00e5 Instagram och fick mycket uppmuntran att fokusera p\u00e5 upplevelsen ist\u00e4llet f\u00f6r resultat, men ocks\u00e5 st\u00f6d i att det \u00e4r okej att vilja prestera. Jag \u00e4r inte ensam med s\u00e5dana h\u00e4r tankar.<\/p>\n<p>Dagen f\u00f6re loppet ser jag att de sl\u00e4ppt nya startplatser och f\u00e5r byta till 45 km. Smiter lite fr\u00e5n k\u00e4nslorna som v\u00e4cks av att beh\u00f6va prestera, k\u00e4nns en aning l\u00e4ttare f\u00f6rh\u00e5lla mig till, men det \u00e4r fortfarande f\u00f6r kort str\u00e4cka f\u00f6r att inte fokusera p\u00e5 tiden. Har dessutom ett tidigare resultat p\u00e5 n\u00e4stan samma bana fr\u00e5n 2017 att j\u00e4mf\u00f6ra mig med.<\/p>\n<p>Vad \u00e4r meningen med att springa f\u00f6r mig? Det ger mig en identitet som l\u00f6pare med tillh\u00f6righet och sammanhang. Antagligen knyts en status till mig i gruppen beroende p\u00e5 hur duktig l\u00f6pare jag \u00e4r, tidigare hur snabbt jag sprungit maraton och kortare ultralopp. Numera hur l\u00e5ngt jag sprungit, och vilka lopp jag klarat. En annan viktig mening \u00e4r att komma n\u00e4ra b\u00e5de min egen natur och naturen runt omkring. Att k\u00e4mpa fysiskt och mentalt, g\u00f6ra n\u00e5got kr\u00e4vande, ta i under l\u00e5ng tid, h\u00e5lla fokus, hantera kroppens signaler och mina tankar och k\u00e4nslor \u00e4r att m\u00f6ta min egen natur som organism. Som n\u00e5got jag \u00e4r skapt av evolutionen att g\u00f6ra. Om jag dessutom f\u00e5r g\u00f6ra det i naturen, kommer jag \u00e4nnu n\u00e4rmare det som jag tror \u00e4r en del av min sanna natur. Om det finns n\u00e5gon inneboende mening, som vi inte skapar sj\u00e4lva, \u00e4r det att f\u00e5 k\u00e4mpa f\u00f6r v\u00e5r \u00f6verlevnad i de naturliga betingelser vi \u00e4r skapta f\u00f6r. N\u00e4r jag springer ett lopp, eller med ett m\u00e5l i naturen, pressar jag mig sj\u00e4lv mer, kommer n\u00e4rmare det som ger k\u00e4nslan av att k\u00e4mpa f\u00f6r \u00f6verlevnad.<\/p>\n<p>F\u00f6r ett \u00e5r sedan var situationen en helt annan. D\u00e5 hade jag haft sv\u00e5ra kn\u00e4problem i ett halv\u00e5r och skulle g\u00f6ra en artroskopi. N\u00e5got som sedan visade sig vara sv\u00e5r artros, ingen menisk kvar och ett korsband som n\u00e4stan var av och inte gick att g\u00f6ra n\u00e5got \u00e5t. D\u00e5 var jag r\u00e4dd att aldrig mer kunna springa, aldrig mer kunna delta i traillopp och ultralopp. Nu \u00e4r jag tillbaka, sprungit flera lopp i \u00e5r, visserligen p\u00e5 ett d\u00e5ligt kn\u00e4, men \u00e4nd\u00e5 med, \u00e4nd\u00e5 fortfarande l\u00f6pare. En l\u00f6pare som lovat sig sj\u00e4lv att aldrig mer ta l\u00f6pningen f\u00f6r sj\u00e4lvklar, att forts\u00e4tta vara tacksam f\u00f6r att det fungerar att springa, oavsett hur l\u00e5ngsamt det g\u00e5r.<\/p>\n<p>Fj\u00e4llmaran tog mig 6:37, dvs 37 minuter l\u00e4ngre tid \u00e4r f\u00f6r 4 \u00e5r sedan, visserligen lite l\u00e4ngre bana. Hamnade p\u00e5 plats 61 av 87 startande m\u00e4n, pl\u00f6tsligt (eller gradvis), bland den l\u00e5ngsammaste tredjedelen. Man kan t\u00e4nka att jag tappat drygt 9 minuter per \u00e5r eller att jag springer ca 10% l\u00e5ngsammare. Jag som ska vara duktig, att r\u00e4knas, det har varit en del av identiteten, tillh\u00f6righeten, sammanhanget, meningen. Den andra meningen, att f\u00e5 k\u00e4mpa i naturen, blir inte mindre v\u00e4rt f\u00f6r att jag \u00e4r l\u00e5ngsammare, upplevelsen blir inte s\u00e4mre. Det g\u00e4ller bara att p\u00e5minna mig sj\u00e4lv om det.<\/p>\n<p>Det finns n\u00e5got inom psykologin som kallas priming och primingeffekt. Inom \u00e5ldrande och prestationer har det stor relevans. Man pratar om priming -induced automatic behavior effects. Att bli p\u00e5mind om negativa effekter av \u00e5ldrande via typiska stereotyper om \u00e4ldre, f\u00f6rs\u00e4mrar ofta prestationer p\u00e5 m\u00e5nga olika omr\u00e5den som r\u00f6r b\u00e5de kognitioner och motoriska funktioner. Genom att l\u00e4sa om, h\u00f6ra om eller tala om f\u00f6r dig sj\u00e4lv att \u00e5ldrandet har negativa effekter och genom att beskriva \u00e5ldrandet som orsaken till ens f\u00f6rs\u00e4mrade prestationer kommer du automatiskt att f\u00f6rs\u00e4mra dina prestationer. Kanske genom att du omedvetet fokuserar mindre, tar i mindre, k\u00e4mpar mindre, upplever sm\u00e4rtor och skador som mer hindrande osv. Ju mer du \u00e4ltar \u00e5ldrandets effekter, desto mer kommer det bli sj\u00e4lvuppfyllande profetior.<\/p>\n<p>Hur kan vi omfamna och acceptera v\u00e5rt \u00e5ldrande och samtidigt inte prima oss sj\u00e4lva att bli s\u00e4mre \u00e4n vi beh\u00f6ver vara? Att ta emot \u00e5ldrandet som n\u00e5got positivt samtidigt som vi forts\u00e4tter ta f\u00f6r oss av livet. Hur g\u00e5r det till? Jag vet inte det, men jag vet att jag \u00e4r tacksam \u00f6ver att jag fick uppleva att springa Vemdalen Fj\u00e4llmaraton en g\u00e5ng till.
