Det g\u00e5r inte s\u00e5 bra med mitt onda kn\u00e4, har dessutom bakslag i det ryggonda jag dragits med sedan i v\u00e5ras. \u00c4nd\u00e5 sprungit min backyardrunda 6,7 km fram och tillbaka runt Sten\u00f6orn. Tittade p\u00e5 m\u00e5nen och lyssnade p\u00e5 den fina podcasten L\u00f6parens sj\u00e4l om sm\u00e4rta medan jag sprang. Har kommit hem, bytt om till cykelbyxor och kort\u00e4rmat.<\/p>\n<p>Kliver p\u00e5 racercykeln som \u00e4r uppriggad p\u00e5 en cykeltrainer och klickar fast i pedalerna. Ska komplettera l\u00f6ppasset med cykling, eftersom jag inte kan springa s\u00e5 l\u00e5ngt som jag vill. Sl\u00e5r p\u00e5 podden igen. H\u00f6r dem prata om att l\u00e5ta sm\u00e4rtan f\u00e5 finnas och ta plats, inte g\u00f6ra den till en fiende. F\u00f6rs\u00f6ker samtidigt b\u00f6rja trampa. Sm\u00e4rtan str\u00e5lar upp i l\u00e5ret fr\u00e5n kn\u00e4t, m\u00e5ste dra ner motst\u00e5ndet f\u00f6r att kunna dra runt trampan. Varje varv g\u00f6r ont. Vevar med v\u00e4nster ben och l\u00e5ter bara h\u00f6ger f\u00f6lja med. Ler f\u00f6r mig sj\u00e4lv n\u00e4r jag h\u00f6r p\u00e5 podden och de talar om vikten av sj\u00e4lv ta ansvar f\u00f6r sin sm\u00e4rta, att inte tro att n\u00e5gon annan ska l\u00f6sa det.<\/p>\n<p>Podden v\u00e4cker s\u00e5 m\u00e5nga tankar om min l\u00f6pning och sm\u00e4rta:<\/p>\n<p>Hur sm\u00e4rtan har funnits med i min l\u00f6pning en stor del av den tid jag sprungit och att den faktiskt varit viktig f\u00f6r min utveckling som l\u00f6pare och f\u00f6r andra aktiviteter som jag \u00e4gnat mig \u00e5t. Hur tacksam jag k\u00e4nner mig f\u00f6r att jag \u00e4nd\u00e5 kunnat springa s\u00e5 mycket som jag gjort. Har snart sprungit i 25 \u00e5r, l\u00f6pningen har blivit en oerh\u00f6rt stor del av mitt liv och \u00e4ven av min identitet. Att det inte \u00e4r sj\u00e4lvklart att jag alltid kommer att kunna springa. Vem \u00e4r jag utan l\u00f6pningen? Sen i v\u00e5ras \u00e4r jag nog mer \u00e4n lufsare \u00e4n l\u00f6pare \u2013 t\u00e4nker \u00e4nd\u00e5 att jag alltid kommer se mig som l\u00f6pare. Tjugofem \u00e5r \u00e4r l\u00e5ng tid, finns ingen aktivitet som pr\u00e4glat mig mer. Skadorna har vidgat perspektiven men l\u00f6pningen \u00e4r det jag alltid kommit tillbaka till.<\/p>\n<p>Hur jag hela 2009 sprang med ont i kn\u00e4t, och det ledde till att jag p\u00e5 h\u00f6sten b\u00f6rjade cykla betydligt mer. K\u00f6pte en racer igen, som jag inte haft sen 80-talet. Fortsatte att cykla parallellt med l\u00f6pningen och fick \u00e5ret efter bland mina b\u00e4sta resultat p\u00e5 Stockholm marathon och persade p\u00e5 Liding\u00f6loppet. Best\u00e4mde mig f\u00f6r att satsa p\u00e5 klassikern eftersom jag f\u00e5tt nyt\u00e4ndning p\u00e5 cyklingen och redan k\u00f6rde l\u00e4ngdskidor. N\u00e5got som jag t\u00e4nkt och t\u00e4nkt p\u00e5 men inte gjort n\u00e5got \u00e5t. Som verkligen fick mig att ta steget att l\u00e4ra mig crawla, dels f\u00f6r att klara Vansbrosimningen, men ocks\u00e5 f\u00f6r jag s\u00e5 l\u00e4nge dr\u00f6mt om att n\u00e5gon g\u00e5ng g\u00f6ra en Ironman. Det blev fr\u00f6et till att tr\u00e4na \u00f6ppet vattensimning, som blivit en viktig del i mitt liv under somrarna, som sedan lett till b\u00e5de triathlon och swimrun. K\u00e4nns bra att t\u00e4nka p\u00e5 hur jag f\u00e5tt s\u00e5 m\u00e5nga nya m\u00f6jligheter genom att jag beh\u00f6vde hantera en skada. Swimrun \u00e4r traill\u00f6pning i kvadrat, givit s\u00e5 m\u00e5nga fina upplevelser.<\/p>\n<p>Hur jag under h\u00f6sten 2012 fick v\u00e4ldigt besv\u00e4rliga nackproblem, som visade sig var tre diskbuktningar, medf\u00f6dd f\u00f6rtr\u00e4ngning av ryggm\u00e4rgskanalen och spinal stenos. Som fick muskulaturen i v\u00e4nster arm och br\u00f6stparti att f\u00f6rtvina. Hur jag ett tag trodde mitt aktiva liv var slut. Fick l\u00e4ra mig att hantera mina tankar och ta en dag i taget, l\u00e4gga fokus p\u00e5 det jag kunde g\u00f6ra. K\u00e4mpade p\u00e5 med rehab, kombinerade m\u00e5nga olika typer av behandling och fick r\u00e5d fr\u00e5n olika h\u00e5ll och blev s\u00e5 sm\u00e5ningom mycket b\u00e4ttre. Vilket ledde fram till beslutet att \u00e5ret efter anm\u00e4la mig till Swiss Alpine 78 k, som jag l\u00e4nge dr\u00f6mt om, men inte v\u00e5gat ta steget. Jag f\u00f6rstod pl\u00f6tsligt att jag inte kan r\u00e4kna med att g\u00f6ra det sen, att det kanske \u00e4r nu eller aldrig som g\u00e4ller. Det \u00e4r inte sj\u00e4lvklart att det kommer fler chanser.<\/p>\n<p>Att jag inf\u00f6r mitt andra Swiss Alpine hade bakslag i mina nackproblem. Hur jag brottades med tankar om att vara en idiot som sprang med s\u00e5 mycket sm\u00e4rta, om jag borde bryta f\u00f6r att inte skada mig sj\u00e4lv v\u00e4rre. Hur mycket l\u00e4ttare det gick n\u00e4r jag ins\u00e5g att sm\u00e4rtan inte blev v\u00e4rre och jag best\u00e4mde mig f\u00f6r att inte \u00e4lta l\u00e4ngre, satte fokus p\u00e5 att ta mig i m\u00e5l ist\u00e4llet. Hur mycket tankarna p\u00e5verkade hur jag f\u00f6rh\u00f6ll mig till min sm\u00e4rta och vilka v\u00e4rdefulla erfarenheter det varit.<\/p>\n<p>Att jag har en h\u00e4lsena som gjort ont i flera \u00e5r, som varit riktigt hindrande. Som jag l\u00e4rt mig hantera genom att varje dag b\u00e5de morgon och kv\u00e4ll g\u00f6ra excentriska t\u00e5h\u00e4vningar. Hur jag i \u00e5r jobbat s\u00e5 mycket med rehab\u00f6vningar f\u00f6r kn\u00e4na och ryggen, som jag sannolikt kommer att f\u00e5 forts\u00e4tta med f\u00f6r att underh\u00e5lla min kropp. Att jag experimenterar med olika skor, olika l\u00f6pstil och h\u00e5llning, l\u00e4ser p\u00e5, tittar p\u00e5 filmer, l\u00e4r mig olika \u00f6vningar.<\/p>\n<p>Att jag s\u00e5 g\u00e4rna jag vill f\u00e5 m\u00f6jligheten att uppleva fler ultra\u00e4ventyr och hur mycket det \u00e4r v\u00e4rt att k\u00e4mpa vidare f\u00f6r. K\u00e4nner fortfarande hopp och hoppet g\u00f6r det m\u00f6jligt att k\u00e4mpa f\u00f6r det som \u00e4r viktigt f\u00f6r mig. Att jag v\u00e5gar tro p\u00e5 dr\u00f6mmen om att bli en av dem som forts\u00e4tter springa efter ha passerat 70 \u00e5r. Att jag fortfarande tror p\u00e5 att jag kan utvecklas som l\u00f6pare trots \u00e5lder och skador, \u00e4nd\u00e5 ha acceptans f\u00f6r det som h\u00e4nder med kroppen och att sm\u00e4rta \u00e4r en del av det.
