{"id":3278,"date":"2020-01-23T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-01-23T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.motionzonen.se\/2020\/01\/23\/hopp-och-mening\/"},"modified":"2020-01-23T09:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-01-23T08:00:00","slug":"hopp-och-mening","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/motionzonen.se\/en\/om-livet-och-lopning\/hopp-och-mening\/","title":{"rendered":"Om hopp och mening"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class='post-text-container'>\n<p>S\u00f6derhamn 23 januari 2020<\/p>\n<p>Som psykolog ser jag ofta att hopp \u00e4r en f\u00f6ruts\u00e4ttning f\u00f6r att v\u00e5ga eller orka ta steget in i en kr\u00e4vande f\u00f6r\u00e4ndringsprocess. Hopp har ocks\u00e5 visat sig bidra till motivation, skydda vid bakslag och \u00e4r en resurs vid depression och kriser. Omv\u00e4nt \u00e4r h\u00f6ga skattningar p\u00e5 skalor som m\u00e4ter hoppl\u00f6shet och meningsl\u00f6shet viktiga att uppm\u00e4rksamma och de indikerar bl. a. \u00f6kad risk f\u00f6r suicid vid depressioner. Ibland \u00e4r det f\u00f6rsta jag beh\u00f6ver \u00e4gna mig \u00e5t med en ny klient att f\u00f6rs\u00f6ka bidra till en gnutta hopp.<\/p>\n<p>I modern psykologisk forskning ses hopp som en tillg\u00e5ng och hopp \u00f6kar bl. a. sannolikheten f\u00f6r att bli framg\u00e5ngsrik som idrottare och forskare och ger f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttrat utfall av psykoterapi. Hopp anses \u00e4ven bidra till b\u00e4ttre motst\u00e5ndskraft och starkare mental och fysisk h\u00e4lsa.<\/p>\n<p>Tv\u00e4rtemot psykologin ans\u00e5g till exempel filosofen Nietszche att hopp var n\u00e5got av det mest negativa han kunde t\u00e4nka sig och att det bidrog till \u00f6kat lidande. Han har beskrivit hopp som \u201dthe most evil of evils, because it prolongs mans torment\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>I en studie fr\u00e5n 2016 av Bury m.fl. unders\u00f6kte man hopp n\u00e4rmare f\u00f6r att identifiera skillnaden mellan hopp och optimism. De unders\u00f6kte dels fotbollssupportrar inf\u00f6r en match, dels personer som r\u00f6stade inf\u00f6r ett politiskt val. Slutsatserna fr\u00e5n studien var att ju mer investerade vi \u00e4r i ett utfall, desto mer ben\u00e4gna \u00e4r vi att luta oss mot hopp n\u00e4r ett positivt utfall \u00e4r osannolikt men fortfarande m\u00f6jligt.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00e4r vi ser att ett positivt utfall \u00e4r mer sannolikt tilltar optimismen och hoppet blir mindre viktigt. S\u00e5 l\u00e4nge sannolikheten \u00e4r l\u00e5g f\u00f6r det vi \u00e4r emotionellt investerade i, men det fortfarande finns skuggan av en chans att det ska g\u00e5 v\u00e5r v\u00e4g, \u00e4r det hoppet vi f\u00e5r luta oss mot. Optimismen \u00e4r i det l\u00e4get, liksom sannolikheten, l\u00e5g och mer en avspegling av v\u00e5rt rationella t\u00e4nkande. Hoppet till\u00e5ter oss var mindre rationella och l\u00e5ter oss forts\u00e4tta k\u00e4mpa vidare mot d\u00e5liga odds. Ibland kan hoppet vara det som g\u00f6r att vi faktiskt klarar n\u00e5got som vi sj\u00e4lva och omgivningen inte tror p\u00e5 \u00e4r sannolikt, vi har sv\u00e5rt vara optimistiska men klamrar oss fast vid hoppet.<\/p>\n<p>Mitt beslut i januari 2019 att spontant, n\u00e4r min \u00f6mma h\u00e4lsena pl\u00f6tsligt blivit b\u00e4ttre, tre veckor innan loppet anm\u00e4la mig till TEC 200, d.v.s. 322 km l\u00f6pning, p\u00e5 till stora delar trail, var inte grundat i optimism och ob\u00e4ndig tilltro till min f\u00f6rm\u00e5ga. Det byggde snarare p\u00e5 en intensiv \u00f6nskan om att f\u00e5 prova att vara med om en s\u00e5dan extrem utmaning och en liten gnutta hopp om att det kanske, kanske skulle vara m\u00f6jligt att klara. Jag visste att jag hade en v\u00e4ldigt bra tr\u00e4ningsgrund att st\u00e5 p\u00e5, men hade verkligen ingen aning om vad jag gav mig in p\u00e5.<\/p>\n<p>Som ultral\u00f6pare \u00e4r det l\u00e4tt att relatera till att hopp kan bidra till att f\u00f6rl\u00e4nga lidandet p\u00e5 det s\u00e4tt Nietszche beskriver, samtidigt ligger ju lidandet i tolkningen av v\u00e5r upplevelse. Vi springer ju l\u00e5ngt f\u00f6r att utmana oss sj\u00e4lva. Tr\u00f6ttheten och sm\u00e4rtan \u00e4r en del av att det vi faktiskt vill uppleva, ta oss igenom och helst l\u00e4ra oss n\u00e5got av. Utmaningen och kampen \u00e4r det vi p\u00e5 s\u00e4tt och vis \u00e4r investerade i som l\u00f6pare. Sm\u00e4rtan och tr\u00f6ttheten \u00e4r n\u00e5got vi fortl\u00f6pande \u00f6var oss att omfamna. Utan hopp \u00e4r det sv\u00e5rt att forts\u00e4tta, medan hopp g\u00f6r det v\u00e4rt att k\u00e4mpa vidare. Ett tales\u00e4tt \u00e4r att \u201dkastas mellan hopp och f\u00f6rtvivlan\u201d. N\u00e4r vi upplever att det inte finns n\u00e5got hopp kan vi k\u00e4nna f\u00f6rtvivlan, finns det ett uns av m\u00f6jlighet att det ska g\u00e5 bra, kan vi k\u00e4nna hopp. Hopp ger mening, f\u00f6r m\u00e5let \u00e4r fortfarande m\u00f6jligt, utan hopp finns ingen mening.<\/p>\n<p>Hopp \u00e4r bra att ha n\u00e4r du inte l\u00e4ngre riktigt tror p\u00e5 n\u00e5gon st\u00f6rre sannolikhet att det ska g\u00e5 bra, men du fortfarande \u00e4r v\u00e4ldigt investerad i ditt \u00e5tagande \u2013 det \u00e4r fortfarande n\u00e5got som \u00e4r viktigt f\u00f6r dig. Skuggan av en chans g\u00f6r det v\u00e4rt att k\u00e4mpa vidare. Ju mindre du tror p\u00e5 m\u00f6jligheten att lyckas med ditt m\u00e5l, desto sv\u00e5rare \u00e4r det att orka k\u00e4mpa vidare.<\/p>\n<p>I september 2019 t\u00e4vlade jag i BUG, Backyard Ultra G\u00e4vle. Vi sprang d\u00e5 ett varv p\u00e5 6,7 km med en ny start varje heltimme och sen vara det bara att forts\u00e4tta starta s\u00e5 l\u00e4nge vi orkade. De hade satt ett tak p\u00e5 24 varv p\u00e5 den t\u00e4vlingen och om vi var flera kvar p\u00e5 sista varvet var det snabbast i m\u00e5l som vann. S\u00e5 l\u00e4nge jag trodde p\u00e5 att jag kunde f\u00e5 en b\u00e4ttre placering, klarade jag av att springa vidare. N\u00e4r vi bara var tv\u00e5 l\u00f6pare kvar efter 23 varv och jag ins\u00e5g att jag inte hade en chans att sl\u00e5 min medt\u00e4vlare Anton p\u00e5 sista varvet gick luften ur mig helt. Utan hopp och mening klarade jag inte att forts\u00e4tta. Allt som gjorde ont i kroppen blev den \u00f6verskuggande upplevelsen och jag vek ner mig.<\/p>\n<p>Alex Hutchinson skriver I sin bok Endure \u201cendurance is the struggle to continue against a mounting desire to stop\u201d. F\u00f6r att vi som l\u00f6pare ska kunna k\u00e4mpa vidare trots ett tilltagande behov av att stanna, beh\u00f6ver vi n\u00e5got att tro p\u00e5, n\u00e4r vi inte riktigt tror l\u00e4ngre, n\u00e4r vi upplever att sannolikheten att lyckas b\u00f6rjar bli orov\u00e4ckande l\u00e5g, beh\u00f6ver vi \u00e5tminstone lite hopp. Ett nytt m\u00e5l som k\u00e4nns lite sannolikare kan ge f\u00f6rnyat hopp.<\/p>\n<p>Endure betyder i grunden att uth\u00e4rda. Hopp tillsammans med mening kan hj\u00e4lpa oss att uth\u00e4rda sv\u00e5righeter i livet och det \u00e4r p\u00e5 samma s\u00e4tt i ett ultralopp. B\u00e5de i livet och i ultra \u00e4r en sak vi kan hoppas p\u00e5 att det kommer bli l\u00e4ttare. Hur tungt det \u00e4n \u00e4r kommer det sannolikt stunder som \u00e4r l\u00e4ttare. Vi kan just d\u00e4r och d\u00e5 ha sv\u00e5rt att tro p\u00e5 det, men det r\u00e4cker att vi tror lite grann och tills\u00e4tter lite hopp.<\/p>\n<p>Jag t\u00e4nker att hopp \u00e4r ett verktyg vi beh\u00f6ver f\u00f6r att v\u00e5ga eller orka g\u00f6ra det som \u00e4r viktigt f\u00f6r oss men som just d\u00e5 k\u00e4nns sv\u00e5rt och t.o.m. osannolikt.
