P\u00e5 motorv\u00e4gen ett tag f\u00f6re Uppsala b\u00f6rjar det v\u00e4xa till en k\u00e4nsla av lycka och positiv f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntan i br\u00f6stet. Det \u00e4r 17e g\u00e5ngen jag ska delta i Stockholm marathon. Loppet \u00e4r starkt f\u00f6rknippat med positiva upplevelser och som har stor del i att jag blev en l\u00f6pare. Det k\u00e4nns lite som det \u00e4r den samlade effekten av alla Stockholm maraton jag sprungit som str\u00f6mmar genom kroppen under n\u00e5gra sekunder. Droppar av lycka f\u00e5ngade utanf\u00f6r Uppsala!<\/p>\n<p>N\u00e4r jag b\u00f6rjade springa i april 1996 satte jag som m\u00e5l att springa Str\u00f6mmingsmaran i S\u00f6derhamn i augusti 1997. N\u00e4r jag uppfyllt mitt m\u00e5l och sprungit mitt f\u00f6rsta maraton i S\u00f6derhamn var det ingen tvekan om att jag ville springa fler maror och anm\u00e4lde mig till Stockholmsmaran 1998, och sedan fortsatte jag springa minst tv\u00e5 maror om \u00e5ret. Stadsmaror blev min grej under \u00e5tminstone 5 \u00e5r, innan jag uppt\u00e4ckte Liding\u00f6loppet och andra lopp. Efter 2012 sa jag att det fick r\u00e4cka med asfaltsmaror. Det h\u00e4r blir tredje \u00e5ret jag deltar efter 2012\u2013 jag har uppenbarligen lite sv\u00e5rt att sl\u00e4ppa taget.<\/p>\n<p>F\u00f6r tv\u00e5 veckor sedan spontananm\u00e4lde jag mig till Stockholm marathon, precis som f\u00f6rra \u00e5ret. En p\u00e5minnelse om att det fanns ca 100 platser kvar, v\u00e4ckte suget efter upplevelsen igen. Jag var dock os\u00e4ker p\u00e5 om kroppen skulle h\u00e5lla eftersom det bara g\u00e5tt 4 veckor efter mitt 100 mileslopp, TEC100. En 8 km testrunda i 4:30 tempo och en snabbkoll i l\u00e5ngtidsprognosen som visade att sommarv\u00e4rmen skulle h\u00e5lla i sig fick mig att ta beslutet att \u00e4n en g\u00e5ng uppleva st\u00e4mningen i Stockholm.<\/p>\n<p>Min livskamrat och fru Lotta \u00e4r med som support, och Paulina, v\u00e5r dotter som bor i Stockholm, ska ocks\u00e5 komma och heja p\u00e5 mig. Eftersom b\u00e5de jag och Lotta haft ganska intensivt arbete de senaste veckorna, hade vi inte riktigt energin att ge oss iv\u00e4g p\u00e5 fredagen efter jobbet. Vi \u00e5kte ist\u00e4llet tidigt p\u00e5 l\u00f6rdag morgon, samma dag som loppet.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00e4r jag h\u00e4mtat nummerlappen och kollat lite p\u00e5 den ganska tr\u00e5kiga sportm\u00e4ssan, d\u00e4r enda beh\u00e5llningen var BMW i8 Roadstern, s\u00e4tter vi oss i gr\u00e4set under tr\u00e4den p\u00e5 \u00d6stermalms IP. F\u00f6r mig \u00e4r det viktigt att vara i tid, f\u00e5 landa ett par timmar, ta in st\u00e4mningen och hinna med att prata med andra l\u00f6pare jag k\u00e4nner. Sitter i den sk\u00f6na sommarv\u00e4rmen och f\u00f6rbereder mig mentalt p\u00e5 urladdningen jag ska g\u00f6ra om ett tag. K\u00e4nner mig glad, f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntansfull och fokuserad.<\/p>\n<p>F\u00e5r syn p\u00e5 Andreas L\u00f6fstrand som vi tr\u00e4ffade f\u00f6rra \u00e5ret p\u00e5 v\u00e5rt eget arrangemang Sten\u00f6 Ultra Trail. G\u00e5r och h\u00e4lsar p\u00e5 honom, pratar en stund, han kommer och s\u00e4tter sig med oss. Det visar sig att han har samma plan som jag, att h\u00e5lla ungef\u00e4r 5 minuterstempo s\u00e5 l\u00e4nge det funkar. G\u00e5r det s\u00e5 g\u00e5r det. Vi best\u00e4mmer att f\u00f6rs\u00f6ka h\u00e5lla ihop under loppet. Han lovar dessutom (n\u00e4stan) att vi ska k\u00f6ra Sk\u00e4rg\u00e5rdsutmaningen tillsammans i h\u00f6st.<\/p>\n<p>Tr\u00e4ffar \u00e4ven Bengt Wallin, som jag tr\u00e4ffade p\u00e5 l\u00f6pcoachutbildningen p\u00e5 Bos\u00f6n f\u00f6rra \u00e5ret. Vi har inte hunnit l\u00e4ra k\u00e4nna varandra riktigt \u00e4n, men jag tror b\u00e5de han och jag upplevde att vi trivdes bra tillsammans och vi har haft lite kontakt via sociala medier sedan dess. Det k\u00e4nns riktigt kul att tr\u00e4ffas en stund igen. Vissa personer bondar jag snabbt med.<\/p>\n<p>F\u00f6rv\u00e4ntan, fokus, pulsen \u00f6kar. Starten g\u00e5r, startar klockan, massan b\u00f6rjar r\u00f6ra p\u00e5 sig. Sm\u00e5joggar, passerar startlinjen, farten \u00f6kar l\u00e5ngsamt. Efter 1 km sl\u00e4pper det lite och vi springer p\u00e5 i ca 4:40 tempo. Andreas \u00e4r typ 2 meter l\u00e5ng s\u00e5 det g\u00e5r bra att h\u00e5lla reda p\u00e5 honom trots att det \u00e4r riktigt tr\u00e5ngt. Vi ligger \u00e4ven bakom en av de som \u00e4r pacers f\u00f6r att komma i m\u00e5l p\u00e5 ca 3:30 timmar. Pacern har en r\u00f6d flagga med 3:30 fastsatt p\u00e5 ryggen och som sticker upp en meter ovanf\u00f6r honom, och han ska h\u00e5lla ett n\u00e5gorlunda j\u00e4mnt tempo och komma i m\u00e5l strax under 3:30, vilket motsvarar strax under 5 min\/km.<\/p>\n<p>Vid v\u00e4tskekontrollen efter 5 km blir det riktigt b\u00f6kigt, det \u00e4r f\u00f6r mycket folk p\u00e5 samma st\u00e4lle och det tar l\u00e5ng tid f\u00f6r mig att komma fram, f\u00e5 i mig tv\u00e5 muggar energi och komma iv\u00e4g igen. Andreas f\u00f6rsvinner, ser 3:30 pacerflaggan s\u00e4kert 100 m framf\u00f6r. L\u00e4gger p\u00e5 ett kol, springer fort, g\u00f6r av med on\u00f6digt mycket energi. Kommer ikapp och f\u00e5r varva ner igen i ca 4:50 fart.<\/p>\n<p>F\u00f6rs\u00f6ker vara lite snabbare vid de f\u00f6ljande tv\u00e5 kontrollerna, trots det tappar jag 30-40 m varje g\u00e5ng och f\u00e5r springa ikapp. K\u00e4nner att benen b\u00f6rjar stumna till. Ligger 20 m efter Andreas n\u00e4r jag ser Lotta och Paulina som hejar p\u00e5 mig. Tv\u00e5 snabba kramar, h\u00e4rligt att Paulina \u00e4r d\u00e4r. Lotta langar \u00f6ver en energigel. Blir j\u00e4tteglad av att se dem och f\u00e5r en riktig energiboost som sitter in en stund.<\/p>\n<p>T\u00e4nker p\u00e5 Berlin marathon 2004. Inf\u00f6r det loppet hade jag \u00f6vat p\u00e5 att dricka i full fart: bara greppa muggen, kl\u00e4mma ihop den upptill, andas in f\u00f6re, drick upp, andas ut. Best\u00e4mmer g\u00f6ra lika som d\u00e5. \u00c4r blixtsnabb i n\u00e4sta kontroll, f\u00e5r Andreas snett bakom mig. S\u00e5 ska det se ut!<\/p>\n<p>Vi h\u00e5ller ihop ca 25 km, i backen vid Slussen tappar jag, orkar inte h\u00e4nga med, b\u00f6rjar stumna rej\u00e4lt. Har sprungit f\u00f6r fort och f\u00e5r sota f\u00f6r det. Benen kommer inte igen efter backen, det \u00e4r fortsatt ganska kuperat de nya rundorna p\u00e5 S\u00f6der. K\u00e4mpar p\u00e5 med stumma ben, allt b\u00f6rjar g\u00f6ra ont 10 km f\u00f6r tidigt, vanligtvis b\u00f6rjar kampen runt 35 km. Funderar om det \u00e4r v\u00e4rmen eller om det \u00e4r sviterna av TEC100 som tar ut sin r\u00e4tt. Whatever, k\u00e4mpa p\u00e5!<\/p>\n<p>F\u00f6r att hantera v\u00e4rmen dricker jag minst tv\u00e5 muggar energidryck och h\u00e4ller minst en mugg vatten \u00f6ver huvudet i varje kontroll. Jag har en svamp fastsatt bak i sk\u00e4rmen som jag ser till att h\u00e5lla bl\u00f6t, som h\u00e5ller nacken lite nedkyld och jag springer genom alla duschar de satt ut efter v\u00e4gen f\u00f6r att f\u00e5 lite extra svalka. Min k\u00e4nsla \u00e4r att det funkar ganska bra, men v\u00e4rmen sliter \u00e4nd\u00e5 p\u00e5 alla. Det \u00e4r riktigt hett i solen, och k\u00e4nns bitvis ganska obarmh\u00e4rtigt varmt.<\/p>\n<p>Tappar tid, orkar inte h\u00e5lla 5 min\/km l\u00e4ngre. Jobbar med olika mentala strategier f\u00f6r att inte tappa farten f\u00f6r mycket. Det funkar inte alls att bara vara n\u00e4rvarande och ta ett steg i taget, bara vara i nuet, som p\u00e5 TEC100. Farten sjunker f\u00f6r mycket d\u00e5. Det \u00e4r tydligen skillnad mentalt mellan att springa en riktigt l\u00e5ng ultra och att springa maraton som kr\u00e4ver h\u00f6gre intensitet. F\u00e5r alternera strategier f\u00f6r att klara h\u00e5lla tempot n\u00e5gorlunda. T\u00e4nker p\u00e5 h\u00e5llning och energiexplosioner i musklerna, f\u00f6rs\u00f6ker vara distinkt i varje steg: p\u00e5, p\u00e5, p\u00e5, p\u00e5. T\u00e4nker p\u00e5 hjulet, att l\u00f6pa som ett rullande hjul i r\u00f6relsen, landa under kroppen, att jag \u00e4r en maskin som bara tuffar p\u00e5 i samma tempo oavsett vad som h\u00e4nder. F\u00f6rs\u00f6ker tanka energi fr\u00e5n publiken. Kommer till V\u00e4sterbron, t\u00e4nker p\u00e5 hur jag f\u00f6rra \u00e5ret log mot \u00e5sk\u00e5darna hela v\u00e4gen upp och fick s\u00e5 sjukt mycket pepp och uppmuntran tillbaka fr\u00e5n publiken. F\u00f6rs\u00f6ker samma igen, men \u00e4r s\u00e5 tr\u00f6tt och har s\u00e5 ont i benen att det \u00e4r sv\u00e5rt. T\u00e4nker p\u00e5 forskning som visar att prestationerna \u00f6kar om man ler, t\u00e4nker att det kanske g\u00f6r lite skillnad \u00e4nd\u00e5.<\/p>\n<p>Passerar 40 km skylten, t\u00e4nker att jag ska spurta lite. F\u00f6rs\u00f6ker \u00f6ka, men ser p\u00e5 klockan att det inte h\u00e4nder n\u00e5got. Kommer in p\u00e5 Stadion, f\u00f6rs\u00f6ker l\u00e4gga p\u00e5 den obligatoriska slutspurten. Benen \u00e4r som skottskadade, rultar fram. Inuti mitt huvud spurtar jag men farten verkar fortfarande inte \u00f6ka. Ser Lotta. OK upp med armarna nu d\u00e5: YES!!! Ser p\u00e5 r\u00e4kneverket att det \u00e4r under 2000 personer som g\u00e5tt i m\u00e5l. Tidigare i veckan var det en person som fr\u00e5gade mig om vilken placering jag trodde jag skulle komma p\u00e5 och jag svarade att jag hoppades p\u00e5 strax under 2000 om det g\u00e5r grymt bra. Det betyder att det trots allt faktiskt g\u00e5tt grymt bra!<\/p>\n<p>Stapplar i m\u00e5l med ett gl\u00e4djetjut. Tiden var inte vad jag hoppats p\u00e5, placeringen var precis vad jag hoppats. I m\u00e5l p\u00e5 3:43, plats 1820. Nu tror jag faktiskt, p\u00e5 riktigt, att det f\u00e5r r\u00e4cka med Stockholm Marathon n\u00e5gra \u00e5r fram\u00e5t.
