P\u00e5 ett s\u00e4tt k\u00e4nns det som ett slutm\u00e5l, att mina 22 \u00e5r av l\u00f6pning mynnar ut i att jag ska f\u00f6rs\u00f6ka mig p\u00e5 att springa den klassiska ultrastr\u00e4ckan 100 miles. P\u00e5 ett annat s\u00e4tt k\u00e4nns det som starten p\u00e5 helt nya m\u00f6jligheter. Klarar jag det h\u00e4r finns det inga gr\u00e4nser f\u00f6r vilka lopp jag kan anm\u00e4la mig till, runt hela v\u00e4rlden finns extremt sp\u00e4nnande lopp att utforska. D\u00e5 \u00e4r det inte min \u00e5lder som s\u00e4tter begr\u00e4nsningen, det \u00e4r i s\u00e5 fall mina egna mentala begr\u00e4nsningar. G\u00e5r jag i m\u00e5l inom tidsgr\u00e4nsen 30 timmar, blir jag kvalificerad att anm\u00e4la mig till utlottningen av startplatser till det \u00e4ldsta, mest k\u00e4nda och klassiska 100 miles-loppet, Western States Endurance Run. Loppet kallas vanligen Western States 100 och g\u00e5r i Kalifornien fr\u00e5n skidorten Squaw Valley via ca 6000 positiva h\u00f6jdmeter i Sierra Nevada bergskedjan med m\u00e5lg\u00e5ng i den gamla guldgr\u00e4varstaden Auburn. Str\u00e4ckningen g\u00e5r genom ett varierande landskap med sn\u00f6iga bergspass och p\u00e5 heta grusv\u00e4gar, p\u00e5 smala skogsstigar och genom strida flod\u00f6verg\u00e5ngar. En dr\u00f6m som verkligen motiverar!<\/p>\n<p>Det jag ska f\u00f6rs\u00f6ka mig p\u00e5 nu \u00e4r 14 varv p\u00e5 en varierad 11, 5 km l\u00e5ng bana i T\u00e4by. Inte lika inspirerande milj\u00f6, men en n\u00e4stan lika stor utmaning. Egentligen har jag ingen aning om vad jag ger mig in p\u00e5. Jag har l\u00e4st massor av skildringar, lyssnat p\u00e5 m\u00e4ngder av poddar med ultral\u00f6pare, sj\u00e4lv sprungit tv\u00e5 bergslopp p\u00e5 ca 8 mil och tagit mig igenom Ultravasans 90 km, k\u00f6rt en 12 timmars multisportt\u00e4vling och en Ironman. Inget av de h\u00e4r loppen \u00e4r egentligen i n\u00e4rheten av hur l\u00e4nge jag ska h\u00e5lla p\u00e5. Gissningsvis blir det minst den dubbla tiden av vad jag v\u00e5gat mig p\u00e5 tidigare. F\u00f6r att ha n\u00e5got att f\u00f6rh\u00e5lla mig till m\u00e5ste jag gissa vad jag klarar. En gissning \u00e4r att jag klarar att h\u00e5lla ett snitt p\u00e5 7:30 min\/km n\u00e4r jag tar mig runt banan och att jag beh\u00f6ver en paus vid varje varv f\u00f6r att f\u00e5 i mig lite energi. N\u00e5gra stopp f\u00e5r vara lite l\u00e4ngre f\u00f6r att byta strumpor och kanske s\u00e4tta p\u00e5 mig torra eller varmare kl\u00e4der. Utifr\u00e5n det h\u00e4r resonemanget t\u00e4nker jag att f\u00f6ljande borde vara rimligt. Om verkligheten vet jag inget just nu. Allt \u00f6ver 12 timmar \u00e4r obruten mark.<\/p>\n<p>Min m\u00e5lhierarki:<\/p>\n<p>Ta mig i m\u00e5l strax under 24 timmar.<br \/>\nKomma i m\u00e5l under 30 timmar, d.v.s. p\u00e5 godk\u00e4nd tid.<br \/>\nForts\u00e4tta tills det g\u00e5tt 30 timmar.<\/p>\n<p>Just nu sitter jag och laddar f\u00f6r mitt sista l\u00e4ngre pass f\u00f6re TEC100. Jag r\u00e4knar med ta det lugnare de sista 2 veckorna. Jag hade en ambiti\u00f6s tr\u00e4ningsplan som jag lade n\u00e4r jag anm\u00e4lde mig i januari. Jag har inte riktigt klarat att f\u00f6lja den. Delvis tror jag det beror p\u00e5 att tr\u00e4ningen f\u00f6r loppet ligger under en period d\u00e5 jag vanligtvis har mycket arbete och i \u00e5r hade jag m\u00e5nga andra grejer p\u00e5 g\u00e5ng samtidigt. Jag har helt enkelt k\u00e4nt att det periodvis blivit f\u00f6r mentalt anstr\u00e4ngande och k\u00e4nt mig manad att dra ner p\u00e5 tr\u00e4ningsdosen flera veckor. Inf\u00f6r Ironman 2016 hade jag planerat mitt arbete betydligt b\u00e4ttre, d\u00e5 visste jag 11 m\u00e5nader f\u00f6re att jag skulle tr\u00e4na till loppet, medan jag nu bara hade 3,5 m\u00e5naders f\u00f6rberedelsetid. Det har hittills k\u00e4nts som 3 tuffa m\u00e5nader, men jag har \u00e4nd\u00e5 l\u00e4rt mig mycket av dem. Framf\u00f6rallt har jag l\u00e4rt mig \u00e4nnu mer om vikten av prioriteringar och att st\u00e4da i vardagsstressen och bland mina \u00e5taganden. Det jag har framf\u00f6r mig nu efter det sista l\u00e5ngpasset och en lagom nedtrappning \u00e4r att b\u00f6rja planera tydligare f\u00f6r hur jag ska fylla p\u00e5 med energi under loppet.<\/p>\n<p>Min kortfattade och prelimin\u00e4ra energiplan \u00e4r att anv\u00e4nda Enervit liquid med koffein, som jag vet brukar fungera p\u00e5 lopp upp till 12 timmar f\u00f6r mig. Annan traditionell energi \u00e4r energibars fr\u00e5n Powerbar som jag vet brukar vara l\u00e4tt\u00e4tna. Chokladbitar som Snickers, Bounty och Sportlunch \u00e4r ocks\u00e5 l\u00e4ttillg\u00e4nglig energi jag testat ofta p\u00e5 tr\u00e4ning. Bananpannkaka vill jag ha med mig eftersom det funkade s\u00e5 bra n\u00e4r jag k\u00f6rde ultraintervaller och mina egna energibollar med dadlar, fikon, n\u00f6tter, kaffe, kokos och kokosolja brukar vara supergoda b\u00e5de p\u00e5 lopp och tr\u00e4ning. Eventuellt tar jag med \u00e4ven vanliga chokladbollar med kakao, kaffe, sm\u00f6r och havregryn, men d\u00e4r har jag mindre erfarenhet. Vitt br\u00f6d med jordn\u00f6tssm\u00f6r och banan \u00e4r en annan grej som brukar funka. En favorit p\u00e5 tr\u00e4ning brukar vara en blandning av salta n\u00f6tter och russin. N\u00e4r det g\u00e4ller v\u00e4tska siktar jag p\u00e5 att anv\u00e4nda det som serveras och ha min egen blandning med svag saft och honung som backup. Vatten och Resorb Sport kommer jag ocks\u00e5 dricka. Salttabletter har jag inte testat tidigare, men t\u00e4nker att det kan beh\u00f6vas. S\u00e5 sm\u00e5ningom gissar jag att det blir att \u00e4ta det som fungerar f\u00f6r magen. Sista varvet av l\u00f6pningen p\u00e5 Ironman Barcelona, b\u00f6rjade magen kr\u00e5ngla och d\u00e5 slutade jag med all fast f\u00f6da och drack bara Red Bull och Cola. Nu t\u00e4nker jag att det blir viktigt att redan tidigt i loppet f\u00f6rs\u00f6ka att \u00e4ta fast f\u00f6da. Hur det g\u00e5r f\u00e5r visa sig.
