It doesn\u2019t matter whether you\u2019re a lion or an antelope\u2014when the sun comes up, you\u2019d better be running.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Citatet kommer fr\u00e5n boken \u201d Why We Run: A Natural History\u201d av biologen och ultral\u00f6paren Bernd Heinrich. Boken hade, n\u00e4r den f\u00f6rst publicerades, titeln \u201c Racing the Antelope: What Animals Can Teach Us About Running and Ourselves\u201d. B\u00e5da titlarna \u00e4r talande f\u00f6r det boken handlar om. Jag l\u00e4ste den f\u00f6r ungef\u00e4r 15 \u00e5r sedan och den gjorde starkt intryck p\u00e5 mig. Eftersom vi m\u00e4nniskor ocks\u00e5 \u00e4r djur och v\u00e5r \u00f6verlevnadsinstinkt \u00e4r, precis som f\u00f6r antiloperna, starkt och ursprungligt kopplad till att springa, kanske v\u00e5r viktigaste anledning till att vi springer \u00e4r f\u00f6r att \u00f6verleva. Idag mer f\u00f6r att \u00f6verleva v\u00e5r moderna livsstil och framf\u00f6rallt f\u00f6r att k\u00e4nna att vi lever.<\/p>\n<p>Bernd \u00e4r en biolog och ultral\u00f6pare som studerat djur hela livet. Han f\u00f6rs\u00f6kte l\u00e4ra sig av djuren och s\u00e5g att bl.a. gaffelantilopen, the pronghorn, hade beteenden som han trodde sig ha nytta av att ta efter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn a recent issue of the international journal Nature, the pronghorn was declared the world\u2019s premier ultrarunning animal, the best distance runner that muscle and bone and blood could produce.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gaffelantiloper r\u00f6r sig alltid springande, f\u00f6rutom n\u00e4r de betar. Bernd hade som m\u00e5l att sl\u00e5 v\u00e4rldsrekord p\u00e5 100 km 1981 och under en period av n\u00e5gra m\u00e5nader gjorde han precis som antiloperna och sprang alltid d\u00e5 han f\u00f6rflyttade sig. Han hade en filosofisk h\u00e5llning till l\u00f6pningen, som han s\u00e5g som grundl\u00e4ggande p\u00e5 m\u00e5nga s\u00e4tt. Enkelt, tillg\u00e4ngligt och genetiskt programmerat att v\u00e4cka starka k\u00e4nslor och drivkrafter. Eftersom jag aldrig varit n\u00e5gon duktig idrottare, men alltid varit en person som \u00e4lskat att r\u00f6ra p\u00e5 mig har enkelheten i l\u00f6pningen passat mig v\u00e4ldigt bra.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe formula is simple: put one foot in front of the other. It doesn\u2019t take much to figure out that if you want to improve sprint speed, you run faster. If you want to improve distance-running performance, you run farther.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mitt m\u00e5l just nu \u00e4r att klara att ta mig i m\u00e5l p\u00e5 TEC100 dvs att springa l\u00e4ngre \u00e4n jag gjort tidigare. Det viktigaste i min tr\u00e4ningsplan var egentligen bara att tr\u00e4na p\u00e5 att springa l\u00e4ngre och oftare \u00e4n jag gjort tidigare. Jag p\u00e5b\u00f6rjade en runstreak i november 2017, inspirerad av Ellens inl\u00e4gg p\u00e5 Pace on Earth\u00b4s webbsida, drygt en m\u00e5nad innan jag best\u00e4mde mig f\u00f6r att st\u00e4lla upp i TEC100. Trots att jag inte helt klarat f\u00f6lja mitt ambiti\u00f6sa tr\u00e4ningsuppl\u00e4gg som jag gjorde i b\u00f6rjan av januari, har jag \u00e4nd\u00e5 sprungit mer sammanh\u00e4ngande volym \u00f6ver de senaste tre m\u00e5naderna \u00e4n jag gjort f\u00f6rut. Nu har jag sprungit i snart 130 dagar i str\u00e4ck och k\u00e4nner att jag, som \u00e4nd\u00e5 sprungit i kontinuerligt i 22 \u00e5r, flyttat \u00e5tminstone min l\u00f6pvana en niv\u00e5 upp\u00e5t &#8211; jag har typ levlat lite. Det k\u00e4nns nu helt naturligt att springa varje dag. Om det \u00e4r kort eller l\u00e5ngt, l\u00e5ngsamt eller h\u00e5rt, v\u00e4g eller stig, inomhus eller utomhus spelar mindre roll. Om l\u00f6pf\u00f6rm\u00e5gan \u00f6kat eller inte \u00e5terst\u00e5r fortfarande att se.<\/p>\n<p>Jag tycker precis som Pace On Earth-Ellen att en av de st\u00f6rsta po\u00e4ngerna med en runstreak \u00e4r att minska kraven, att det \u00e4r s\u00e5 mycket l\u00e4ttare att g\u00f6ra n\u00e5got ofta och lite, ist\u00e4llet f\u00f6r s\u00e4llan och mycket. Att \u00f6va mig p\u00e5 att g\u00f6ra n\u00e5got bara lite ist\u00e4llet f\u00f6r inget alls, och medvetandeg\u00f6ra att den d\u00e4r rundan som tog 20 minuter i l\u00e5ngsamt tempo \u00e4nd\u00e5 \u00e4r ett tr\u00e4ningspass. Att jag p\u00e5 kv\u00e4llen kan fylla i min tr\u00e4ningsdagbok och ge mig sj\u00e4lv en mental klapp p\u00e5 axeln f\u00f6r att jag sprungit en dag till och kan k\u00e4nna mig n\u00f6jd med mig sj\u00e4lv. N\u00e4r jag jobbar med personer med utmattningssyndrom eller med kronisk sm\u00e4rta, ser jag att de flesta har h\u00f6ga krav p\u00e5 sig sj\u00e4lv och m\u00e5nga till\u00e4mpar ett ganska uttalat allt-eller-inget-t\u00e4nkande. Typ: \u201dSka jag tr\u00e4na ska jag g\u00f6ra det ordentligt, annars f\u00e5r det vara\u201d. En viktig del av behandlingen blir d\u00e5 att f\u00f6rmedla ett mer nyanserat syns\u00e4tt d\u00e4r det \u00e4r m\u00f6jligt att laborera med kraven p\u00e5 olika omr\u00e5den och vid olika tidpunkter i livet.<\/p>\n<p>Det h\u00e4r \u00e4r precis vad jag sj\u00e4lv k\u00e4mpar med f\u00f6r n\u00e4rvarande. Eftersom jag best\u00e4mde mig lite sent f\u00f6r att anm\u00e4la mig till TEC 100, hade jag inte hunnit planera mitt liv speciellt v\u00e4l f\u00f6r en intensiv tr\u00e4ningsperiod fr\u00e5n januari t.o.m. april. Vanligtvis tar jag det ganska lugnt den h\u00e4r tiden om jag inte planerat f\u00f6r n\u00e5got s\u00e4rskilt lopp &#8211; tidigare \u00e5r har det bara varit vasaloppet som kr\u00e4vt den h\u00e4r niv\u00e5n av tr\u00e4ning och det har ju varit enklare att \u00e5ka skidor \u00e4n springa den h\u00e4r tiden p\u00e5 \u00e5ret. Jag brukar annars vanligtvis tr\u00e4na det jag har lust med under den h\u00e4r perioden, \u00e5ka skidor, simma, springa, \u00e5ka l\u00e5ngf\u00e4rdsskridskor och kanske cykla lite b\u00e5de inomhus och utomhus. I b\u00f6rjan av mars b\u00f6rjar jag vanligtvis trappa upp l\u00f6ptr\u00e4ningen, f\u00f6r att vara b\u00e5de sugen och redo f\u00f6r Liding\u00f6ultran i b\u00f6rjan av maj.<\/p>\n<p>Nu har jag ist\u00e4llet sedan ny\u00e5r i stort sett bara sprungit och lagt till styrketr\u00e4ning tv\u00e5 g\u00e5nger per vecka. Trots att jag f\u00f6rs\u00f6kt skruva ner mina krav p\u00e5 andra omr\u00e5den i livet har det blivit betydligt mer jobb och betydligt mer vardagsstress \u00e4n vad jag \u00f6nskat. Resultatet har ist\u00e4llet blivit att jag f\u00e5tt dra ner p\u00e5 l\u00f6pvolymen v\u00e4sentligt n\u00e5gra veckor j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med vad jag planerat. Den f\u00f6rsta justeringen jag gjorde var att minska volymen p\u00e5 den f\u00f6rsta \u00e5terh\u00e4mtningsveckan fr\u00e5n ca 70 km till 50 km, den andra blev att g\u00e5 ner p\u00e5 n\u00e5gon slags underh\u00e5llsniv\u00e5 p\u00e5 6-7 mil\/vecka och snarare sikta in mig p\u00e5 att f\u00e5 in n\u00e5gra fler tuffa veckor innan jag ska b\u00f6rja trappa ner inf\u00f6r loppet.<\/p>\n<p>Om sex veckor hoppas jag att jag \u00e4nd\u00e5 st\u00e5r d\u00e4r p\u00e5 startlinjen, inf\u00f6r mitt livs l\u00f6parutmaning.
